our story

Magpies Bakery is a staple in North Knoxville. We are home to some of the best desserts you’ll ever eat! (If we do say so ourselves!) We are affectionately nicknamed YUM CITY!
Magpies was founded in 1992 and we are still using the very recipes that were perfected over 3 decades ago.

Elizabeth, current owner of Magpies, began working at Magpies in high school. Her love for baked goods came from her Aunt Peg, the founder and mama of Magpies Bakery. In 2018, Elizabeth took over for her aunt after learning everything she could. From dishwashing to cake decorating, She knows how to do it!

Small businesses are like children: they take a village! We have been lucky to have grown up among the most supportive family, friends, customers, and employees! This business is a reflection of all them and YOU! We are proud to be a part of this Knoxville community. Nothing makes us happier than being able to provide high quality delicious desserts for all your special events. From an after dinner treat to your wedding day, we are thankful you choose us to provide the desserts!
